Wachter is currently accepting applications for an experienced DevOps engineer in our Lenexa, KS office with a hybrid work schedule. Proficiency with Azure DevOps (YAML) pipelines and a solid understanding of the .NET deployment ecosystem is required. The ideal candidate should have experience with managing Windows servers and IIS and be prepared for a future shift towards a hybrid on-prem/cloud solution. We need an individual who can help maintain our current deployment infrastructure and later assist with the integration of Azure cloud services. A key focus will be on enhancing our current SDLC by implementing modern deployment strategies, with an emphasis on automation, scalability, and security.

• Extensive experience with Azure DevOps, including YAML scripting.
• Solid understanding of .NET application configuration and deployment.
• Skilled in the administration of Windows server environments, especially IIS.
• Experience with Azure cloud services, especially in hybrid configurations.
• Profound understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues in our complex and interconnected environment.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Basic understanding of network operations and infrastructure, with the capability to work closely with netops engineers to bridge any knowledge gaps.

• Develop, transform, and optimize new and existing Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Administer and configure IIS running on Windows virtual machines.
• Implement CI/CD best practices to improve automation and deployment processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot deployment processes to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Document CI/CD processes thoroughly and keep them up to date with project changes.
• Act as a liaison between the network/netops team and the application development team.
• Assist in the planning and eventual migration of apps and services to a hybrid cloud environment.

• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for advanced automation and configuration tasks.
• Strong familiarity with networking concepts and infrastructure components. This includes IP management, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, CDNs, API gateways, etc.

• Experience or familiarity with Azure cloud services in a hybrid environment.
• Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable with both Windows and Unix operating systems.
